Dear Customers and Partners,
Since our last update to you on Saturday 8 August, there have been no interruptions to ACFS Port Logistics Australian operations resulting from the administration process, which commenced on Thursday 6 August.
I absolutely understand that an administration process can cause concern. I have spent the last three days speaking with customers and partners and answering your questions about what this situation means for you.
We have established this page to share the answers to those questions in one place and will be updating it regularly over the coming weeks. You will find answers to the most common questions below.
There have been public suggestions that this process will interrupt the business. That is not the case. There are not expected to be any impacts on customers, retailers, employees or ports through this process.

We all know this is a difficult business that has had to navigate sustained challenges across the operating environment. I am confident that with through this administration process, ACFS Australia will emerge stronger.

No. ACFS is still operating as normal.
“Administration” is a process whereby Administrators are appointed to manage the financial affairs of a company.
In this case, administrators are in place due to cost and operation issues, including material overdue debts that are owed the Australian business.
ACFS welcomes this assistance with debt accumulated due to challenging trading conditions. During the administration, ACFS business operations will not be interrupted by the administration process.
No. ACFS operations are continuing as normal. There are not expected to be any impacts on customers, retailers, ACFS employees, or ports due to the administration process.
Yes. All ACFS staff remain in place and are conducting business as usual. The business has working capital for uninterrupted delivery of its contractual obligations and services, without any reduction in quality.
No. ACFS is a stable business, with long term agreements with customers, retailers, ports and other partners in place. The administration process will not interrupt provision of ACFS services.
No. ACFS Port Logistics is a strong business. There has been no loss of jobs due to the administration process across the 1,600-strong team that delivers for ACFS Port Logistics customers and partners every day. Nor has there been any interruption to the entitlements and weekly superannuation contributions for any ACFS employees.
ACFS management remains in place, including the Managing Director and CEO, Arthur Tzaneros. Business operations have not been interrupted in any way by the administration process.
The Administrator has replaced the Board of the business and is responsible for its financial affairs during the administration process. This process takes a minimum of five weeks and may take longer depending on the circumstances.
The role of the Administrators is to restructure the financial affairs of a business under administration and ensure that business emerges from the process as a going concern. This process can sometimes result in the sale of that business.
It will be up to the Administrators of ACFS Port Logistics to determine the best ownership to carry the business out of administration. The management will be working closely with the Administrators to ensure that during this process, ACFS continues to deliver for customers and partners.
No. As we communicated directly with e-Depot customers on 8 August, ACFS e-Depots are not owned by ACFS Port Logistics. They are leased from other businesses that are not involved in this administration process. There is no risk that customers will not be able to access containers held in ACFS e-Depots.
The Administrators have confirmed with ACFS management that their process should not in any way impact shipping lines, freight forwarding, or third-party logistics customers.
No. ACFS Port Logistics NZ is not subject to administration and its ownership is unaffected. ACFS NZ operations continue as normal.
Given the administration process over the Australian business is not impacting business operations of ACFS Australia in any way, we do not anticipate there being any supply chain concerns relating to operations in New Zealand.
There is no risk that ACFS Port Logistics will stop operating. This is a strong business that the Administrators are supporting as a going concern during the administration process.
ACFS Port Logistics is an integral part of Australia’s critical infrastructure. Upon completion of the administration process, which is focused on financial restructuring of the business, ACFS will continue to play this vital role for Australia.
No. ACFS port operations are operating to schedule. The administration process is not impacting business operations.
ACFS Port Logistics has not been immune to the significant global challenges that have impacted cost and operations in our Australian business, including material overdue debts that are owed to the business.
An administration process is allowing ACFS Port Logistics to restructure its financial position and ensure it will be better placed to meet these industry challenges once it emerges from administration.
ACFS Port Logistics is a strong and profitable business. It has been a trusted partner with direct customers, freight forwarding operators, shipping lines, port authorities, and the broader industry for decades. It will continue to be that trusted partner once the Administrators have completed their work.
Administration processes under Australian law take a minimum of five weeks. It can take longer depending on the circumstances of the situation. The process and timings are the Administrator’s to manage.

Dear Customers and Partners,
As you may by now be aware, ACFS Port Logistics (Australia only) has been placed into administration. I am writing to confirm that this process relates to the Australian business only. It does not include ACFS Port Logistics NZ which is a separate trading entity, nor does it have any bearing on ACFS operations between the two countries.
I remain the Managing Director & CEO of the Australian business, and Managing Director and owner of the separate trading entity ACFS Port Logistics NZ.
The administrators of ACFS Australia are focused on financial restructuring to manage debt. ACFS Port Logistics has not been immune to the significant global challenges that have impacted cost and operating challenges, including material overdue debts that are owed to the business.
An administration process is allowing ACFS Port Logistics Australia to restructure its financial position and ensure it will be better placed to meet these industry challenges once it emerges from administration. This process should be aided by the fact our Australian operation remains an operational and profitable trading entity.
ACFS NZ will continue to be resourced and supported by its owners the Tzaneros family, which has significant and varied business interests beyond the current subjected ACFS Port Logistics (Australia) business in administration. The Tzaneros family is working with the Administrators to resolve that situation as quickly as possible and ensure no impact
on customers or staff.

ACFS e-Depots operational update – 10am AEST, Monday 10 August 2026

Dear Valued Shipping Line Partners,
I would like to provide an operational update regarding ACFS e-Depots across our NSW, VIC, QLD, and SA Empty Depots.
All ACFS e-Depot facilities continue to operate as normal, with services being provided without interruption.
Our teams remain fully operational and continue to provide the complete range of depot services, including:
Container receival and reposition operations are continuing as normal, and our depot, survey, maintenance and repair and wash teams remain operational across all our empty container depots.
Our focus remains firmly on maintaining service continuity, equipment availability and the service levels our shipping line customers have come to expect.
We appreciate the continued support of our shipping line customers and remain committed to providing reliable and uninterrupted e-Depot services.

Dear Customers and Partners,
As you may by now be aware, ACFS Port Logistics (Australia only) has been placed into administration.
While ACFS is in administration, the Administrator is responsible for financial decisions relating to the business.
As CEO, I remain responsible for management of business operations.
With that in mind, and speaking with you as CEO, I wanted to share my perspective on the future of ACFS.
This business has been built on strong & longstanding relationships with customers who trust us with their freight, with partners who work alongside us, and with the people who give a great deal of themselves to it.
We have been deeply moved by the expressions of support and continued custom from clients and partners across the industry. This includes direct customers, freight forwarding operators, shipping lines, port authorities, and industry leaders.
I would also like to reassure you at this time that the ACFS e-Depots across Australia, which ACFS leases from owning entities that are unrelated to this administration process, also remain uninterrupted and operating as usual.
Looking forward
I have been advised by the Administrator that it intends to operate ACFS as a going concern during the administration process, which typically takes five weeks but can go longer depending on the circumstances. This
process and its timings are properly theirs to manage, and I support their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted business operations.

Working with the Administrator, and with all of our dedicated team still in place conducting business as usual, there is no reason supply chains will be disrupted by this process.

Letter to customers of ACFS e-Depots – 3pm AEST, Saturday 8 August 2026

By way of this letter, we confirm that all ACFS e-Depots container park operations are leased from an entity that owns the leasehold improvement assets from each state-based privatised port owner. Theowning entities of these depots are not included in the ACFS Port Logistics administration proceedings.
To that end, there is no risk of any interruption to the operations of ACFS e-Depots during the ACFS Port Logistics administration process. ACFS e-Depots will continue to have free and unencumbered access to your equipment being held in all our sites across NSW, VIC, and QLD.
Whilst SA operates on a separate landlord owned party facility, be assured that all rents are were paid and up to date pre administration, and will continue to be honored and paid on time whilst we work through the administration process.
From early next week, ACFS will be providing regular updates regarding the administration process on our website acfs.com.au. That said, please don’t hesitate to contact me personally with any questions.
