ACFS Port Logistics is set to acquire Kerry Logistics’ warehouse and transport business in Adelaide, effective 6 July 2020.
ACFS is the largest privately owned container logistics operator in Australia, and now its expanding its operations in Adelaide.
In 2017, ACFS Port Logistics acquired Kerry Logistics’ MT Park business and now will begin its acquisition of its Adelaide arm.
ACFS CEO and Managing Director, Arthur Tzaneros said expansion in the Adelaide market has been a strategic focus area for ACFS in recent years.
“We have patiently awaited the right acquisition opportunity whilst furthering the capability of our existing operation and building a solid foundation that is capable of comfortably managing strong growth be it organic or via M&A,” he said.
“Kerry’s business and customer base perfectly complements ACFS’s strength in providing warehousing and transport solutions via the most efficient and lowest cost operating model.”
Arthur said the company intends to deploy its fleet of high productivity vehicles there and is complementing the acquisition with a huge Vawdrey order.
This acquisition is an addition to ACFS’ growing footprint of strategically located transport and warehousing assets nationally, adding to its current warehousing footprint of 200,000+ square metres and 900,000 square metres of yard capacity nationally offering multimodal transport (road & rail), storage, empty parks, intermodal terminals, AQIS, customs bond facilities.
Terry Tzaneros, ACFS Port Logistics Chairman said in today’s uncertain economic environment, investing in growth is done via strategic moves.
“Whilst the industry and the broader domestic and global economy are being cautious, ACFS are driven to continue to invest in the right opportunities that will provide all our current and future customers a National solution that is highly capable of meeting their evolving needs,” he said.
