Wayne Morris, ACFS Chief Operations Officer and Will Gouda, ACFS Chief Commercial Officer had the privilege to be invited for a tour at Amazons Robotics Fulfilment Centre in Sydney.
The Sydney site spans over 200,000sqm across four levels which is equivalent to 24 rugby league fields. Sydney was Amazons first development in the Southern Hemisphere in 2017, and since then, they have generated 3,500 jobs locally. This impressive site can house millions of small and large items and is equipped with advanced technology including yellow robotic drivers and pods.
The ACFS Port Logistics executive team are always looking for a “better way” to offer service excellence, efficient operations, and safety across all areas. Having the privilege to view new innovate methods adopted by a global leader was fascinating and educational.
The ACFS “Better Way” program is focused on introducing technological advancement to provide a sophisticated operating modal which will provide our valued customers with the latest and advanced solutions. It was wonderful to witness the same principles adopted as everyday practices by ACFS Port Logistics used by a global disruptor and innovative leader like Amazon.
